Dental Implants
In Canberra
A dental crown is a type of restoration that fits over a damaged, decayed, or cracked
tooth to restore its shape, size, strength, and appearance. Here’s why dental crowns
are a go-to solution for many dental issues.
What are Dental Implants?
If you feel self-conscious about missing teeth or wearing dentures, there is a solution that may be perfect for you. Dental implants are a great option for replacing missing or severely damaged teeth.
They provide comfort and stability, and the artificial tooth they support closely resembles a natural tooth. Dental implants offer a more permanent and natural-looking solution for those seeking to restore their smile and improve their oral health.
How Do Dental Implants Work?
Dental implants are considered the most effective treatment for replacing missing teeth. The process involves two stages: first, a titanium screw is surgically placed into the jawbone, and then a crown is attached to the screw during the restorative phase. This recreates the natural look and feel of the lost tooth.
Dental Implant Surgery and Restoration
The process of dental implant surgery begins with obtaining a 3D scan of your jaw (CBCT) and consulting with your dentist to determine the best position and restorative options for your implant(s).
The surgery typically lasts about 60 minutes and is done in the dental chair. After the procedure, you can return home to rest and allow the area to heal.
Approximately 3 months later, once the implant(s) have successfully integrated into your jawbone, we can proceed with creating and placing the porcelain crown or denture.
